Built to last - These shoes survived two years of dirt, mud, water, and walking 15+ miles a day on streets and roads made of rocks. If they got muddy/wet, I just cleaned them off and polished them up again and they kept on trucking. Of course under such conditions I did have to put new soles on them after about a year and a half, but the leather held up without getting holes or anything, even the laces lasted such brutal treatment. So if you plan on using these for "regular" white collar work, I'm sure they will last for a long, long time. They are comfortable, too, although I did get blisters on the backs of my feet, but then I was walking around in them for 10-12 hours a day.
